Cats have been associated with the supernatural for thousands of years. They were revered by ancient Egyptians and condemned by religious leaders during the Middle Ages. Hell’s Kitty (2018) plays on our fear of kitties, and delivers a comedic look at a possessed pussy…
In the movie, Nick (Nicholas Tana) has a cat that is possessed by an evil spirit. His female friends and lovers are often attacked by the fiendish feline. Does the animal require an exorcism, or are there even more wicked forces at play?
Hell’s Kitty was originally a successful web series. The 17 existing episodes have now been collected into a full-length feature film. Something similar happened with Woke Up Dead (2009) a while back. In fact, these films both share a similar tone.

The movie also pays tribute to other horror films including Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988), Psycho (1960), Paranormal Activity (2007), Inferno (1980), and The Exorcist (1973). The cameos and references all work together to make you feel embraced by the genre.
The film’s theme is hilarious and hard to get out of your head. The movie is funny right from the start, and there are a lot of gags along the way. It’s rare to find a movie that will likely please fans of horror, comedy, and animals too!
The movie is beautifully edited by Gustavo Sampaio, who also worked on Den of Darkness (2016). All the former episodes came together nicely to create a single unit. If you’re looking for a few laughs, some supernatural scares, and an authentic reverence for scary movies, check out Hell’s Kitty…
